Specialist Mentoring for Students in Higher Education

Specialist mentoring is a one-to-one support service for university students who have a diagnosed mental health condition or autism spectrum condition (ASC).

It’s designed to reduce barriers to learning and help students feel more confident, focused and emotionally supported in their studies.

This isn’t counselling or academic tuition - it’s practical, goal-focused support that’s shaped around your needs.

That might include managing timetables and deadlines, navigating perfectionism, communicating with staff, setting boundaries, or working through anxieties related to academic pressures.

As a qualified specialist mentor, I work with you to help you identify your challenges, build coping strategies, and develop the mindset and tools needed to succeed in university life.

Sessions are supportive, structured, and led by what’s going on for you.

What to expect:

  • 60-minute sessions (online or in person)

  • Weekly or fortnightly availability

  • Shared digital workspace for notes and goal tracking

Mentoring can be especially helpful if you feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure how to balance academic expectations with your wellbeing. It’s a space to step back, reflect, and move forward with a bit more clarity.

Why Work With Me?

I know what it’s like to feel stuck — to question your place in the world or carry around other people’s projections about who you are.

That lived experience is why I do this work.

I became a therapist after working through my own challenges with mental health and late-diagnosed neurodivergence, and I bring that understanding to everything I do.

I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I’ve also trained in compassion-focused and solutions-focused techniques, which support my person-centred approach.

More than anything, I aim to create a space that’s honest, collaborative, and tailored to you.

Not sure if this support is for you?

It’s okay to have questions.

Whether you’re considering psychotherapy or looking into specialist mentoring, I’m happy to talk it through.

We can have a quick, informal chat about what you’re experiencing and what kind of support might be most helpful - with no pressure to commit.

If it sounds like a good fit, great. And if not, that’s okay too.

Let’s start with a chat…
